Why Karen Wolfe?
"If you have integrity, nothing else matters.
If you don't have integrity, nothing else matters."
My commitment to Ward 5 has been a lifelong journey. From advocating for community prosperity through my local paper to serving as Advocacy Chair for a citizens' ratepayers organization, I have consistently championed the needs of our residents. I bring a proven track record of fighting for what matters to you.
I am not shy about voicing my opinions and I have always viewed council decisions through the lens of the taxpayer. I value integrity, honesty, accountability and respect and will work hard to earn and maintain your trust and support.

Community development
I have been a passionate and active member of the Ward 5 community throughout my life. I was a member of the community-driven Pefferlaw Ice Pad Committee; lobbied to save the Pefferlaw United Church and the Robert Johnston cemetery. For years I was a strong and vocal advocate for washrooms at Holmes Point Park.
Resident advocacy
I was a founding member of the ratepayers' group that first advocated for the mosquito abatement program in 1978. I led the opposition to stop the proposed Aerodrome project on Old Homestead Rd.; I began advocacy work in 2021 to bring a Northlander train stop to Pefferlaw; I actively participated annually in budget feedback sessions and presented suggestions to Treasurer; I worked with our former MP Scot Davidson to ensure train wigwags on Old Homestead Road were repaired and stayed repaired; I worked with a community group to save the Pefferlaw Dam; I have made many deputations to council on various issues over the years,
Experienced Communicator
Educated as a journalist, I have spent the majority of my working life specializing in writing and producing communication vehicles--publishing magazines, newspapers, newsletters, PR releases and communiques.
In 2005 I decided to marry my publishing expertise with my passion for my community and began publishing the Pefferlaw Post. Its success quickly grew into the Georgina Post which was considered a reliable news source for the Georgina community.
In 2013 I began hosting a Rogers TV program called That's My Story and then co-hosted the ever popular Politically Speaking program.
Communicating is what I do best.
Volunteerism
I am very honoured and humbled to have been recognized for my work in the community.
I was a proud recipient of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee medal in 2012 and again in 2025 I proudly accepted the King's Coronation Medal. I've enjoyed volunteering at the Good Food Collective and the Georgina Cares Auction. I have served as the President of the Georgina Historical Society for seven years and a member since 2006. I have been a member of the Pefferlaw Fire Fighters Ladies Auxiliary, the Morning Glory Public School Community Liaison and Advocacy Chair for the Pefferlaw Area Residents association.
